This is an amazing opportunity and the first for us, to work alongside Medivet Godstone Referrals’ specialist and advanced practitioner veterinary surgeons to gain experience in veterinary referral services whilst supporting the clinical team with day to day running of the referral centre. The team provides veterinary surgeons, their clients and patients with state of the art medical, ophthalmic, surgical, cardiorespiratory and diagnostic imaging assistance including X-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, computed tomography (CT) examinations and interpretation. In addition, our radioactive iodine unit provides this therapy for hyperthyroid cats. In this role you will: Carry out history taking, performing specific clinical examinations, undertaking investigations, performing anaesthesia techniques, and assisting in the treatment of inpatients Accountable for patient care and monitoring. Responsible for admissions and discharges for procedures Ensure patient records are accurate and up to date. Complete a clinical handover and make arrangements for the transfer of any patient requiring OOH or enhanced care. Responsible for prescribing medication and carrying out dispensing checks. Providing, as part of a fairly shared rota, overnight and weekend care to our inpatients and attending to their needs as they require such as clinical monitoring, administering medications, attending to their general husbandry, and alerting the on-call referral veterinary surgeon if any adverse changes to the patients’ condition occurs Participation in clinical rounds, journal club, case discussions and other activities to further the team’s knowledge and patient care. Your Skills and Experience RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon Minimum of 12 months experience working as a Small Animal Vet Completed RCVS VetGDP Experienced in delivering exceptional care to both patients and clients.
