Children's Residential Support Worker (Male)

Salary: £11.50 - £13.00 per hour (depending on experience) + £40 per sleep shift
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Shifts: Long day shifts, waking night shifts, and sleep shifts (7:45 AM - 11:00 PM)
Prospero Health and Social Care is seeking passionate and dedicated Male Children's Residential Support Workers to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in a residential childcare setting, and those holding a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care are highly desirable.
Job Description:
As a Children's Residential Support Worker, you will provide care and support to children with a variety of needs in a residential environment. This includes supporting children with learning difficulties, autism, physical disabilities, and complex challenging behaviours. You will be responsible for delivering physical and emotional support, assisting with care plans, conducting risk assessments, and reporting incidents and accidents. Maintaining professional relationships with clients, families, and external health care professionals is essential.
Your duties will include:
Supporting children with daily activities, including getting them to and from school.
Engaging in recreational activities and helping children build social skills and friendships.
Managing behavioural challenges and maintaining a calm and supportive environment.
Assisting with safeguarding and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the children in your care.
Attending training, meetings, and supporting the development of individual care plans.Key Responsibilities:
Adapt and respond appropriately to various situations and individual needs.
Provide emotional support, maintaining patience, resilience, and non-judgmental attitudes.
Remain calm and composed under pressure, especially in challenging situations.
Work closely with families, external professionals, and the wider team to ensure the best outcomes for the children.Essential Requirements:
Minimum 12 months of experience working with children in a residential or care setting.
Three years of professional references (without gaps).
Enhanced DBS check (on the update service) and a clean criminal record.
An overseas police check, if required.Desirable Qualifications/Experience:
Level 3 in Health and Social Care.
Full UK driving licence.Skills and Attributes:
