Royal Navy Family & People Support (RN FPS) is an integrated team supporting Royal Navy (RN) Personnel and their families with specialist services throughout their career. Part of this is ensuring there is up to date and relevant information available ensuring all resources, signposting and guidance is through one online gateway. We are looking for someone who is effective in communication and writing skills as you will be the focal point for the push and pull of information for Lympstone & Surrounding area. enabling clear, concise messaging, supporting a diverse community to stay informed, involved and in-touch with Navy Command and Stakeholders. MOD Information and guidance has been delivered to Service Personnel and families for 40 years. You will be joining a team of individuals who will support your knowledge and delivery. Working closely with the local RN FPS Community Development Worker (CDW) and Community Support Worker (CSW) we need a person who can coordinate delivery, promote and evaluate FPS local events and activities. We also need an individual who works well in a team and is at home with working on digital platforms and use of Office 365 in order to carry out organisation wide work within the digital environment supporting the geographical spread of families across the UK and Overseas Through focused research and building links with service-related organisations, and local support facilities, you will actively ensure topical information is available in-person through Unit/RN FPS Offices and digitally via the Royal Navy Forum, offering a signposting and referral service which may need sensitivity and compassion during engagement. If you are someone who can handle their own workload, be organised, but adaptable to meet the needs of the wider team and local community, especially at times of deployment, then this may be for you Some outreach work will be needed, which will include working during the evening or weekends, so a flexible work ethos is desirable as is the ability to travel and provide own transportation to outreach locations. Roles can offer great job satisfaction and opportunities to develop and progress both within the Department and wider Civil Service Job description As an Information Officer you will: Research and deliver up to date and relevant information to the Whole Workforce - RN Personnel, their families, Reservists, MOD Civilians, and stakeholders within their Area Of Responsibility (AOR). Listen and communicate effectively, when consulting with Service Users both when answering calls, sending emails and in person, ensuring confidentiality at all times. Manage the push and pull of information, signposting and referrals; building relationships with key local and national stakeholders and using all available channels of communication to inform families of support available. Monitor and respond to digital information enquiries via email, RN Website, RN Forum and officially used Social Media platforms. Maintain a record of enquiries, identifying trends and communicating any concerns to RN FPS Information & Engagement Manager and local area Command. Deliver Deployment Support, identifying Units and ensuring the implementation of briefings, support at family events and provision of bespoke information, whilst communicating and organising support through the area team. Develop and maintain promotional/information boards and self-service information points. Support relocation, answering enquiries, assisting with Service Family Accommodation (SFA) applications and providing local information, as well as sending arrival packs to all new occupants of SFA within the Lympstone and surrounding area. Deliver briefings (Face-to-Face and Virtual) and staff information stands in order to promote of RN FPS. Support the needs of the wider Engagement & Communications Team.
