We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead GP to join our team at HMP Long Lartin, a category A prison based in the village of South Littleton, Worcestershire. The site is around 10 minutes drive from Evesham and 45 minutes drive from Birmingham. At HMP Long Lartin, there is a high level of long-term condition patient needs, and this role would suit a GP who is interested in end-to-end care as well as leading the GP and ANP team. The site also has a small inpatient unit, and the role would cover daily rounds on the wards.
Hours
This position is part-time, working 32 hours per week across 4 days, with flexibility on which days. Shift times are flexible, potentially 8.30am-4pm or 9am-5pm. If different hours are required, we would be willing to consider this. You’ll receive an annual salary of up to £130,000 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

What you'll be doing:
As a Lead General Practitioner, your responsibilities will include:
* Providing medical leadership and expert advice regarding medical and primary care issues
* Supporting other GPs and ANPs working in the service with peer review & clinical supervision
* Overseeing the induction of new GPs into the local site
* Identifying and utilising evidence-based best practices through benchmarking and clinical guidelines
* Ensuring systems and processes are in place for managing results, letters, and tasks
* Supporting the development of Local Operating Policies
* Supporting the Head of Healthcare at Local Delivery Board meetings and attending Clinical Forums
* Reviewing CVs for potential new GPs and locum/agency GPs and supporting the recruitment of new GPs into the service

Qualifications required:
* MBChB or MBBS and inclusion on the GMC Register
* RCGP 1 and 2
* Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse
* Interest in long-term conditions
* Knowledge and methods of developing clinical quality assurance
* Ability to build and maintain collaborative partnerships
* Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a prison or high secure environment
