What we are looking for:
To be considered for this programme, you must be able to code in at least one language and ideally have a STEM degree, but it isn't essential.
Ideally, you would also have:
A strong interest in technology with the drive to solve financial challenges with innovative solutions, and an ambition to design and deliver the next technological breakthrough.
Barclays will require applicants for this position to have legal right to work in the UK.
Purpose of the Role
To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, which provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.
Accountabilities
1. Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
2. Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
3. Collaboration with peers, participation in code reviews, and promotion of a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
4. Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
5. Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
