Our Children & Families Service works in a highly challenging, yet highly rewarding environment to manage child-in-need and child protection cases as well as cases in legal proceedings and looked after children. About the Role
As an Experienced Social Worker, you will model high standards of professional social work practice and will be used to working at pace, within a high pressurised environment. You will advocate for the children and young people of Devon and understand the importance of regular purposeful visits, and providing good quality assessments to ensure improved consistent outcomes for them. The casework will be varied, and you will be working creatively to promote positive long-term change.

Mid/East Team – Phoenix House, Tiverton
North Team – Taw View, Barnstaple
South Team – Follaton House, Totnes
About You
You will have post qualifying experience working with children and families and enjoy working in a busy, fast paced environment. Your skills and experience will include:
* Knowledge and understanding of the legislation, models, and theories relevant to children’s social work.
* The ability to build effective professional relationships with children, families, and other professionals.
* Experience working within social care, including working in a multi-agency and court environment.
* A social work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
* Satisfactory completion of your Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE).
* A high-level of written and verbal communication skills.
