Responsibilities:
1. Complete all auditable functions/records required by the Company, such as Health and Safety Compliance and Food Safety Compliance, and audit paperwork for the depot to ensure management compliance and raise awareness of the food safety system (HACCP) throughout the site.
2. Ensure Coldstore staff comply with and operate within H&S and food hygiene guidelines as per company safety codes of practice.
3. Ensure training needs and paperwork are completed as recommended by the Company; all records are filed and stored appropriately. Maintain documentation control and site-based training to meet standards for quality accreditation (CMI/STS/EHO).
4. Manage and prioritize engineers and maintenance/service schedules using relevant tools (e.g., 9080 job log).
5. Oversee warehouse operations including budgeting, labor scheduling, space and equipment management, safety, security, housekeeping, and sanitation, ensuring customer service standards are met through people, process, and technology.
6. Lead, train, and provide performance feedback to direct reports to ensure productivity and efficiency.
7. Continuously improve operational procedures like shipment verification, merchandise handling, and inventory management.
8. Collaborate with sales, inventory control, and operations to ensure product availability.
9. Plan long-term labor needs based on sales forecasts and management input.
10. Achieve company KPIs related to cost, productivity, customer service, profits, and team development.
11. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, fostering a safety culture.
12. Analyze operational reports to identify trends and recommend solutions.
13. Build and maintain partnerships with departments such as Finance, HR, Sales, and Continuous Improvement.
