Moreton Group Practice is a large medium sized Practice with 13250 patient list size. We have pleasure of serving patients living in the Moreton area.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our HCA team. You will be joining a group of HCAs who support our 12 GPs, 3 ANPs, and 5 nurses. You will be providing support to all clinical staff as well as holding your own clinic session.
Main duties of the job
The post holder works as part of the Nursing team under the supervision of registered nurses and lead HCA.
1. Participates in the delivery of patient centred care, always maintaining a compassionate and professional attitude.
2. Contributes to the practice organisation.
3. Supports registered nurses in the provision of a caring and safe environment.
4. The post holder will demonstrate competence in generic and specialist skills as required within a time frame agreed with their manager following the completion of appropriate training and education.
5. The Health Care Assistant will function at a competency level in line with the requirements of the post and achieve and maintain both mandatory and statutory training requirements associated with the role.
KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
All members of the multidisciplinary team, including nursing and medical staff, allied health care professionals, support workers, and administration and clerical staff.

Here at Moreton Group Practice, we have a clinical team consisting of GPs, four ANPs, four practice nurses, and three HCAs. They are supported by a large admin team comprising of Medical Secretaries, Medicines Managers, and Administrators.
We were rated "Good" at our last CQC inspection. We are high achievers in QOF and other enhanced services.
Moreton Group Practice is also attached to Moreton and Meols PCN, which provides additional health professional roles, such as pharmacists, physiotherapists, paramedics, health & well-being coaches, and more to our team.
Job responsibilities
1. Work cooperatively as part of the multi-disciplinary team supporting colleagues in work associated with patient care.
2. Understand own level of responsibility and accountability in relation to registered staff.
3. Communicate clearly, effectively and appropriately with the multidisciplinary team, patients and their family, visitors, and carers.
4. Through practice, demonstrate an understanding of Duty of Care and how this contributes to safe practices.
5. Assist and, as required, provide patients with personal care.
6. Following appropriate training and supervised practice, undertake identified competency-based practices which are required for the Practice, after such tasks have been delegated to them by a registered nurse or manager.
7. Identify learning and development needs and produce a personal development plan in conjunction with your line manager/supervisor.
8. Achieve and maintain competence in mandatory and statutory training associated with the role.
9. Complete documentation of care in line with the Practice Standard.

Experience
Essential
1. Experience working within either a General Practice or hospital environment is essential.

6. Learning Disability Annual Health Check with ANPs
7. NHS Healthchecks
8. New Patient Health Checks
9. Lifestyle Advice/Weight Management
10. INR Monitoring
11. Vaccine Administering - B12/Flu/Pneumonia & Shingles
12. Urinalysis/Sample Collection
13. Home Visits
14. Phlebotomy when needed as we have an in-house service
Desirable
1. You must be an experienced HCA, ideally from General Practice; however, training can be given to the right candidate.
