The purpose of the role is to provide an effective financial support function to the local senior management team and actively participate in the decision making and evaluation processes, whilst ensuring all Group reporting requirements are achieved. Primary Responsibilities Management and responsibility of all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting of the Regional business ensuring that all Group reporting deadlines are met Attend and provide input at all local company Board meetings and Valuation Review meetings held bi-monthly throughout the year Become a key member of, and provide financial assistance/decision making support to, the local company senior management team Supervision of a small team of accounts staff to make sure that routine transaction processing and monthly payment routines all meet Group deadlines and adhere to Group prompt payment policies Develop and maintain financial policies and adhere to Group financial procedures ensuring consistent, accurate and robust accounting information produced Review and challenge site valuations cost to complete forecasts which act as a key control of the business Quality assurance of all VAT and SDLT/LBTT payments made in connection with land purchases and sales To ensure a thorough understanding of the systems, particularly COINS and ensure the integrity of the data processed and held What experience do I need? Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) ideally with some previous experience in a Management Accountant role managing a small finance team Be a confident team player with a hands on attitude who is able to communicate with staff at all levels of the business and possess the ability to translate and explain key issues (sometimes complex) to non-financial staff Good commercial awareness and the ability to review, interpret and then challenge information and explanations behind cost movements and budget variances Ability to manage current and upcoming future workloads so as to work effectively and accurately on multiple tasks in a fast-paced PLC environment - time management and planning skills very important Relevant experience within the construction or house building industry would be a big advantage, but not essential.
