My client are one of the leading Food manufacturers in the UK through their strong well-known brands. You will be joining a friendly relaxed team environment. Reporting directly to the Production Manager as Team Leader you will manage the day-to-day production operations for your designated area and team. You will ensure operational targets are met and improved upon along with maintaining standards relating to food safety, health and safety, Quality and general company procedures.
Responsibilities
* Management for direct reports within the production team – Leading and motivating the operators to achieve department targets.
* Responsible for Shift Efficiency of Production Lines and adherence with production plans and set KPI’s.
* Responsible for managing Cost Control Waste control/Labour Cost/Material usage.
* Responsible for compliance with Food Quality, Safety and Environmental Standards
* Ensuring the quality of all Products made in conjunction with ISO 9001 Quality System
* Management of HR/people matters – working in conjunction with HR/Operations manager, managing first level disciplinary and grievance cases, absence reviews and return to work interviews, ER related matters.
* Supporting induction of new staff/probation reviews, ensuring staff are trained effectively to carry out their role, manage appraisals and development reviews.
* Initiates direct communication with employees on an individual and team basis.
* Ensures a consistent roll-out of all new policies, procedures, working practices, company initiatives.
* Promotes innovative solutions to maximise efficiency. Fostering a continuous improvement approach.
* To be responsible for your own safety and that of your team.
* Guarantees that all safety legislation is met along with technical specifications.
* To ensure you, the team and any visitors comply with all statutory and site Health, Safety and Environmental procedures.
Skills/Experience Required
* Previous experience of working within a team leader/managerial role
* People management skills with the confidence to challenge others.
* Ideally to have had exposure to the manufacturing industry
* Food production experience desirable
* Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.
* Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, with the ability to work to deadlines.
* Self-motivated, able to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
* Willing to undertake training to support the position
