We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Audit Manager to join our client, an established international accountancy firm. You will have a wealth of experience in carrying out internal and external commercial audits, as well as commercial acumen and people management skills.
Job Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of audit and assurance assignments on behalf of the client, mainly within the finance, insurance, and solicitors sectors, ensuring their effective and timely completion while maintaining the highest quality standards.
The role may require occasional visits to other member firms as and when required.
You will also be responsible for assisting in the growth of the practice through the management of current clients and the acquisition of new clients.
Core Responsibilities
1. To plan and carry out audit assignments for clients.
2. Ensuring the audit team is on track and completing audit work within the allocated timetable and budget.
3. Control and supervise junior staff both in the UK and in India.
4. Communicate with the client on the progress of the audit and meet them to discuss audit and accounts-related matters.
5. Advise clients on areas of business improvement and negotiate the terms of business with clients as required.
Management Responsibilities
1. To ensure accurate and timely billing and receipt.
2. Regular dialogue with the India team.
3. Improve the company's processes by developing or implementing best practices.
4. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending CPD course programs, workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
5. Travel to other Group offices and related clients as reasonably required.
Business Development
1. Assist the Business Development team as required to acquire new clients. Meet prospective clients, discuss requirements, and create proposals (with assistance from Directors as required).
2. Extend the value chain by introducing new services to existing clients at all touch points.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
1. Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience (ACA/ACCA) ideally in a practice environment.
2. Excellent knowledge of FRS 102 and IFRS (Consolidation experience is a must, especially with overseas subsidiaries), sound knowledge of ISA’s, good report writing skills, and the ability and experience to manage a team of up to 10 people.
3. Competent with the following software: CaseWare, IRIS, and familiar with the Mercia methodology.
