In a nutshell:
This is a Job Share Opportunity, 3 days per week.
The Contract Manager will report to the Technology Commercial Manager and be encouraged as the single point of contact (SPOC) between nominated strategic suppliers and VAL. They will be encouraged to have a strong grasp on VAL commercials, work prioritization, and the strategic roadmap dependencies. Working closely with all areas of the business will be key, influencing at the Senior Leadership Group level and occasionally at board level when required.
This role is essential for improving the supplier capabilities, opportunities, and return on investment to support our VelocityX plan.
Day to day:
1. Monitoring and effecting contract alignment, ensuring suppliers align with SLAs for operational services delivered.
2. Conduct regular, formal supplier service reviews to examine past performance and facilitate future development of services in line with business objectives.
3. Ensure all contract information is up to date and held with the legal department and is inputted by legal into the contracts database.
4. Help resolve ongoing issues and challenges, with Suppliers to ensure the delivery of desired outcomes and help maintain and monitor progress of service improvements.
5. Produce and negotiate Agreement Schedules with suppliers working with Procurement as appropriate.
6. Responsible for providing commercial input into IPs and Business Cases (costs, resourcing etc.) and liaising with Technology teams to facilitate project delivery.
7. Collaborate with key stakeholders to forecast and oversee supplier spend in the Technology Opex Budget.
8. Assembly and publication of performance metrics in scorecards or other reports as agreed.
9. Manage the interaction of multiple service/product providers.
10. Work with Enterprise Architecture and Delivery to undertake impact assessments of the commercial element of proposed initiatives.
11. Co-ordinate suppliers and manage commercial aspects of internal audits relating to technology services.
About you:
1. Solid, demonstrable understanding of technology contract management ideally gained during contract, commercial or procurement background.
2. Experience in management of contracts in excess of £5M TCV.
3. Proficient negotiator with demonstrated ability to improve benefits over costs.
4. Able to clearly communicate complex technical and commercial interdependencies to collaborators and can break down business requirements into technical dependencies.
5. Excellent collaborator and communication skills. Ability to tune approach to suit suppliers and collaborators is a must.
6. Help drive a collaborative, partnership supplier culture that is based on shared long-term goals.
