Job purpose:
To assist with a variety of tasks which will assist the person who needs care and support to live their personal and social life according to their wishes and interests.
About the employer:
Our client is looking to recruit a Personal Assistant to provide support to their 18-year-old Son who has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and mild learning difficulties.
Main duties:
Social duties:
keep in touch and socialise with family and friends.
Keep our client company when they take part in activities such as gaming, Lego building & art.
do hobbies such as watching films, going for walks.
Accompanying the family on occasional days out.
Personal care: support parents with providing personal care for their son.
Domestic duties: support with eating and drinking.
These duties may vary from day-to-day.
Type of person that you/they are looking for:
Values someone that is honest, reliable, punctual, non-judgemental, ability to build good relationships based on trust and respect, flexible, adaptable, easy going, able to work alone, positive, willingness to travel, understands equality and diversity.
Specific requirements: Ideally someone with an understanding of DMD and previous experience. Must like dogs. Must have a good sense of humour and be fun loving. Have an interest in gaming.
Hours of work: 5 hours per week – times to be discussed – One evening & one Saturday morning each week.
Rate of pay: £12.50 per hour.

Successful applicants will require DBS checks & Employment References.
This role is funded by the Local Authority and is paid 4 weekly.
