The Role
The Costing Engineer will service the international markets with prices for metal ceilings and architectural metalwork in an accurate and timely manner. Maximising profit within every opportunity, taking into account the commercial strengths and weaknesses. Accurate costing and recording useful data for the business. Providing accurate manufacturing costs for products and reporting on other business costs.
The Person
* Previous experience in a Costing position within a manufacturing business
* Excellent data analysis skills
* Solid understanding of manufacturing processes
* Prior experience of managing complex bids independently
* Experience in risk assessment
* Demonstrated experience of building and implementing creative processes
* Demonstrates a collaborative approach to work
* Ability to fiercely prioritise and can multitask effectively
* Exceptional communication skills; can build relationships with ease
* Demonstrated the ability to respectfully influence stakeholders at all levels
* Respects the views of others – seeking out different opinions where possible
Responsibilities
* Support the Estimating team with internal costs on complex projects and products.
* Costing from first principles, building up material, labour, overheads and cost to serve for all SAS projects.
* Analyse data in the system to identify exceptions, trends and flag risks.
* Ensure sign off processes are followed accurately
* Manage the continuous improvement of the SAS costing process – identifying opportunities and driving change.
* Understand manufacturing methods and the business commercial strengths and weaknesses
* Be commercial point of contact for Head of Commercial Pricing, attend meetings and present detailed project analysis when required.
