We are hiring for a FP&A - Senior Analyst to join our FP&A team within Group Finance. The role will develop, and maintain, financial models to enable and underpin group financial planning processes supporting informed strategic decision making. The role is based with colleagues in our Sunderland office - Doxford Park, a minimum of 2 days per week with the rest focusing on where you can best deliver, whilst still allowing for the required work life balance. The role operates Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week with 1 hour lunch per day. Reporting to the FP&A Manager - Planning, we are looking for qualified accounting candidates with established post qualification experience. What will I be doing? Develop, maintain and refine Arriva’s groupwide financial planning models, working with large data sets capable of producing actionable outputs. Build positive, close collaborated, and established relationships with local FC’s, FD’s and Heads of Finance providing supporting where required. Ensure consistent adoption from local and divisional finance teams of group modelling templates and provide support where required. Prepare presentations and reporting to distil complex messages into digestible messaging to support informed commercial and strategic decisions, capable of being presented to the Arriva management board and shareholder. Respond to ad-hoc owner requests in a timely manner, building trust and delivering consistent messaging. Provide financial modelling support to ad-hoc and strategic projects for the management board, or divisional finance teams, as required. Provide challenge and financial insight to financial business unit submissions. Collate group financial information capable of satisfying forward looking covenants and monitoring to ensure compliance as part of any financial planning processes. What we'd like from you We’re looking for candidates with a recognised Accounting Qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with established post qualification experience. Candidates must also: Be skilled analytically and have a proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. Have knowledge of IFRS, statutory reporting and management reporting processes. Have experience building and developing complex financial models. Demonstrate ability to work with and manipulate large volumes of data in a time sensitive environment. Outside of the technical skills and experience, show excellent people skills with ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels, internally and externally. Show ability to work independently, with a proactive attitude and approach in terms of planning. Have ability to confidently challenge, and support messaging where appropriate. Customer focused, with an ability to prioritise and identify key issues to stakeholders. Ability to respond to ad-hoc requests and reprioritise workload.
