The Role We are seeking a Head of Technical Services to oversee all aspects of maintenance and technical operations across our portfolio. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires expertise in maintenance, contract management, financial oversight, and an unwavering commitment to keeping our sites operational and safe. As Head of Technical Services, you will be responsible for managing and supporting a team of Maintenance Managers to ensure the smooth operation of all our properties. You’ll work closely with senior management to oversee both planned and reactive maintenance, supplier relationships, and financial controls, including CAPEX and OPEX budgets. This isn’t a desk job. We’re looking for someone who’s as comfortable rolling up their sleeves and fixing a kitchen appliance as they are reviewing contracts or leading team meetings. With your experience in the restaurant or hotel sector, you’ll bring technical expertise, leadership skills, and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset to the role. Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee the maintenance and technical services team to ensure all properties are fully operational and meet the highest standards. Develop, implement, and manage Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules across all sites. Take a hands-on approach to maintenance tasks as needed. Manage group-wide contracts, suppliers, and contractor databases to ensure efficient operations and cost control. Oversee and manage CAPEX and OPEX budgets, ensuring financial targets are met and cost efficiencies are identified. Ensure statutory compliance and health & safety standards are upheld across all sites. Collaborate with the development and design teams to provide technical input on refurbishments and new openings. Provide leadership and technical guidance to the maintenance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture. Required Skills & Experience Extensive experience in maintenance and technical services, ideally within the hospitality or hotel sector. Strong leadership experience, with a proven ability to manage and develop a team. In-depth knowledge of financial management, including budgeting and contract negotiation. Hands-on technical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues directly when required. Solid understanding of health & safety regulations and statutory compliance. Ability to work across multiple sites, balancing strategic oversight with hands-on problem-solving. Proactive, self-motivated, and adaptable, with a "no task is too small" attitude. Why Join Us?
