Position: Production Planner
Salary: £20 - £25 per hour
Location: Kempston
Proactive are currently working with a client who are a market leader in their field based in Kempston. The client is currently in need of a Production Planner due to rapid company growth. The successful candidate will be joining a thriving business and helping maintain the site's function through this exciting influx of work.
You will be responsible for:
1. Working with internal customers and stakeholders to ensure enquiries are addressed for manufacturing, service and projects.
2. Working with engineering and manufacturing on Bill Of Material (BOM) review and analysis.
3. Maintaining reports and monitoring material movement throughout manufacturing and inventory processes.
4. Supporting the purchase requisition process, monitoring and communicating progress through the process across multiple departments.
5. Conducting follow-up with buyers, planners and requestors regarding completion of open Purchase Requisitions or Manufacturing Orders.
6. Working with Managers to plan and manage production.
7. Reviewing production plans and schedules to identify and report potential risks.
8. Avoiding shortages and excess of equipment and material.
9. Reviewing production requirements and establishing priorities and schedules.
10. Monitoring progress of manufacturing orders by planning and monitoring material movement in production.
11. Planning equipment and material needs for manufacturing orders and service/spares.
12. Working with Management in resolving production planning and control issues.
13. Preparing job order documents and giving timely approvals.
14. Working with cross-functional teams to complete job orders on-time and within customer specifications.
15. Working with Product Line Management, Service Technical Support, Manufacturing and Sustaining Engineering on end of life (EOL) item lifecycle.
16. Communicating production updates to management on a regular basis.
17. Assisting in processing customer orders and shipments according to the established schedule.
18. Other related tasks reasonably expected by the business.
Experience/Qualifications:
1. Understanding of ERP and MRP tools.
2. Experience of ERP systems such as SAP, JDEdwards, Deltek, Syspro, Epicor or similar.
3. Knowledge of Manufacturing methods and assembly processes.
4. Detailed project planning of Manufacturing Operations and Processes.
5. Excellent Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills.
6. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
