Gaydio - The UK's LGBTQ Radio station is looking for some new newsreaders for our breakfast show. This opportunity is perfect for someone looking to gain real life experience on a national radio station and develop existing skills in compiling and reading news and weather bulletins for the Gaydio Breakfast show. Nearly all of our previous newsreaders who have built up their experience and portfolio with us have gone on to work for other leading broadcasters like Capital, BBC (R1, R2, 5 LIVE, 6music), Greatest Hits, Heart, Bauer, and TV channels including Sky News, CNN, and GB News. This is a great opportunity to get real experience in a national radio station. We'll provide regular feedback, training, and fun non-news opportunities. Ideally, you'll be in your 3rd year at Uni or further, and have completed legal training or be aware of the OFCOM code and legal rules surrounding news reporting. Availability about twice a month (or more) during our breakfast show from 7am to 10am is required. You'll produce 6 breakfast news bulletins, weather bulletins, and the LGBTQ headlines for the day, so knowledge of what interests the LGBTQ community is a must. This opportunity is based in Manchester City Centre but can be done remotely. At least a couple of shifts a month is recommended to gain the benefit and experience. To start your broadcasting career, fill in the form below and send us a demo If you don't have kit at home, use your phone/onboard microphone - we care about your sound, not the recording quality.
