Senior Credit Controller
* Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
* Location: Guildford (Office Based 5 days per week)
* Salary: £35k - 40k (salary is depending on experience, up to £40,000 for exceptional candidates)
We are seeking a Senior Credit Controller to join my client's team in Guildford. This role is ideal for someone with experience in credit control within a law firm (although law firm experience is not essential), who is adept at leading process improvements and implementing automation to enhance efficiency. This is a fantastic opportunity for a tech-savvy professional to develop and refine our credit control function.
Day-to-Day of the Role:
* Review and enhance existing credit control processes, implementing automation where feasible.
* Liaise with solicitors to ensure prompt payment of client invoices and disbursements.
* Maintain accurate records of all chasing activity on the finance database for transparency and action planning.
* Regularly review client ledgers to manage money on account and ensure timely transfers to the office account.
* Send client statements, payment requests, or reconcile client ledgers as needed.
* Monitor new instructions to secure money on account.
* Collaborate with solicitors and the Financial Controller on actions for late payments or potential bad debts, adhering to internal policies.
* Provide detailed reports on credit control activity, follow-ups, and payment promises.
* Create and manipulate Excel reports for Senior Management.
* Mentor and supervise the existing credit controller.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience in Credit Control within a law firm is ideal but not essential.
* Experience in automating credit control processes.
* Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel.
