A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SALES EXECUTIVE AT THE MERCURE AND IBIS STYLES HOTELS PAIGNTON Are you a hands-on, detail-oriented individual with a knack for fixing things? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment? The Mercure and Ibis Styles Paignton are looking for a dedicated and proactive Maintenance Assistant to join our team. If you have a passion for maintaining high standards and ensuring everything runs smoothly, we want to hear from you What you'll be doing Reporting to the Multi-site maintenance manager, you can expect your working day to include the following. Inspect, diagnose and solve problems in a responsive way. Perform basic repairs or take preventative measures to ensure the life and functioning of various types of equipment. Providing support to other departments. Cleaning work areas and equipment. Keeping the outdoor areas, Terraces and Garden clean, tidy and maintained. Conduct regular inspections of the property to identify and address maintenance issues. Assist with the upkeep of the hotel's exterior and interior, including landscaping, painting, and general repairs. Respond promptly to guest requests and maintenance issues in a professional manner. Maintain and organise maintenance tools, equipment, and supplies. Collaborate with the maintenance team and other departments to ensure the smooth operation of the hotel. Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment. WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU We hire mostly on personality & potential but here are a few of our requirements Has extensive knowledge of Fire and H&S Regulations, can maintain compliance documentation up to date. Has good communication skills, can arrange emergency callouts, request works quotations and manages the onsite activity of contractors. Previous experience in maintenance or a similar role is preferred. Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and customer service skills Physical ability to perform manual labour and lift heavy objects. Flexible schedule, including availability to work weekends and holidays.
