As CEO, you'll provide visible, engaged leadership and ensure the Charity remains financially viable while delivering high-quality services. You will build strong relationships with local and regional partners, and work with Trustees and the Executive Team to develop and implement a strategic plan. Your responsibilities will also include establishing robust processes for budgeting, operational planning, and reporting, and identifying opportunities to enhance long-term income streams and sustainability.
BWHC are hoping to hear from analytical thinkers with senior management experience within health, social care or non-profits. The successful candidate will have a proven track record translating strategy into effective operational plans and leading organisations through periods of change. They will have experience maintaining relationships with external stakeholders alongside sound financial, business and political acumen, including an understanding of investment portfolio management. Moreover, the CEO will act with honesty and integrity during decision-making processes and be committed to the philosophy and values of Bristol and Weston Hospitals Charity.
Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity (BWHC) improves the health and happiness of patients cared for by the 10 NHS hospitals in Bristol City Centre, South Bristol and Weston-Super-Mare. They go above and beyond to transform patients' experiences - bringing moments of joy, comfort and hope to those who need it most. The Charity also supports the development of innovative treatments by funding new technology and international research. Since its creation in 1974, the Charity has raised over £109m to support the hospitals within University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW). There are approximately 240 NHS Charities in the UK. UHBW is ranked in the top 10, with a strong track record in research, teaching and clinical innovation. BWHC's values and principles are integral to all its operations. These are reflected through a series of promises made to patients and supporters. The promises are as follows:
* Fund the little things that make a big difference
* Create healing environments and spaces to provide dignity, privacy and empathy
* Champion equality for all
* Fund world-class technology, treatments, knowledge and medical research
With the current Chief Executive retiring in 2025, BWHC is seeking a leader who can uphold these values, build on past successes and continue its growth trajectory.
