Actemium specialise in the bespoke design and fabrication of process related projects working to and operating under BS EN1090 classifications. We are looking to appoint a competent TIG Welder / Fabricator to join our team.

Reporting directly to the Manufacturing/Works Manager, your duties will include:
1. Being able to read and interpret engineering drawings or product specifications including the understanding of welding symbols to determine build sequence, methods of fabricating & assemblies.
2. Layout and mark dimensions and reference information on material.
3. Complete weld set-ups and welding using TIG
4. Own tools are required
General:
5. Ensure tolerances and parameters are met to satisfy quality and output.
6. Prepare / process materials prior to assembly.
7. Trim, file, grind and deburr surfaces.
8. Tack welding fabricated parts together.
9. Plating & Fabricating ferrous steels.
10. Check products for compliance with specifications and quality requirements.
11. Repair / rework as required.
12. To check welding plant / equipment prior to and after use highlighting any faults/ defects to the Fabrication Shop Supervisor.
13. Ensure production timings are met.
14. Reinstate the work area following engineering activities.
15. Follow company rules and adhere to procedures & Health and Safety standards. Work as part of a team to produce orders on time.
Experience: (Essential):
16. Time served welding on fabrications working with mild steel
17. Experienced in TIG welding with the ability to read engineering drawings
18. Worked on various material gauges, with single and multi-run welds.
19. Other related fitting experience would be advantageous.
20. Competent to work in silo from start to project completion
Skills:
21. Weld to a high standard (Fillet & Butt), to coding standard.
22. Be skilled with various plating & fabrication techniques
23. Demonstrate the safe use of associated equipment including abrasive wheels, grinders etc.
24. Good communicator at all levels
25. Ability to work as part of a team
26. Keen attention to detail
27. Knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation
28. Ability to work in a safe manner with minimal supervision
Qualifications: (Desirable):
29. Time served apprentice
30. City & Guilds Parts 1, 2 & 3 or BTEC ONC equivalent qualification
31. NVQ Level 3 in fabrication & Welding / Plating & Welding
