Health & Safety Manager Location: Bridgwater (with regional travel) Salary: Up to £50,000 30 days holiday plus bank holidays Our client, a well-established and growing construction firm, is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead and develop their health and safety practices. The Role: As the Health & Safety Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance across all aspects of building safety and compliance, including asbestos, electrical, fire, legionella, and gas safety. You will work closely with site teams, management, and external stakeholders to maintain the highest health and safety standards while fostering a strong safety culture. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain health & safety policies and procedures in line with legal and industry regulations. Conduct risk assessments, audits, and site inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety standards. Oversee building safety compliance, including asbestos management, fire safety, electrical safety, legionella control, and gas safety. Provide training and guidance to employees and subcontractors on health and safety best practices. Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Keep up to date with legislative changes and ensure the company remains compliant with all relevant regulations. Prepare and present health & safety reports to senior management. Support the company in achieving and maintaining relevant certifications and accreditations. The Ideal Candidate: Proven experience in a Health & Safety Manager role, ideally within construction or a related industry. Strong knowledge of building compliance & safety regulations, particularly in asbestos, electrical, fire, legionella, and gas safety. NEBOSH Certificate/Diploma or equivalent qualification is essential. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
