Job Description
The overall responsibility of the role is to take ownership of allocated cases from inception through to completion.
Key Accountabilities
1. Take ownership of tasks delegated from the Team Leader such as UAT testing, product setup in Fusion, and updating procedure documents.
2. Manage the Team in the absence of the Team Leader.
3. Assist in the training, mentoring, and serve as a referral point for less experienced members of the team.
4. Act as a referral point for broker support for queries on applications in the absence of the Team Leader.
5. Maintain broker relationships that are integral to the growth of WOSL.
6. Promote our Team Ethic.
7. Ensure all underwriting is in line with Company policy and within regulation.
8. Underwrite large loan applications (up to £250k) and maintain a pipeline of cases.
9. Liaise with introducers, valuers, and solicitors to ensure excellent relationships are maintained.
10. Ensure that all cases are underwritten within the Group's risk appetite.
Skills & Competencies
1. Ability to work as part of a team.
2. Pass internal competency tests post-induction.
3. High attention to detail.
4. Good written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge & Qualifications
1. A strong understanding of FCA regulation.
2. Previous experience of managing a caseload and assessing cases for approval in a fast-paced environment.
3. Experience within the secured lending sector.
4. Experience in underwriting 2nd charge or BTL mortgage applications.
5. CeMAP (desirable, not essential).
