We are seeking an Experienced Planning Lawyer to join a dynamic local authority legal team on an interim basis.Key DetailsStart: ASAPEnd date: 15th August 2025Rate: £50 per hourLocation: Remote/Hybrid working available (Council HQ: Oxfordshire)Hours: Full-time preferred (37 hours/week), flexible working consideredTeam: Legal Services, reporting to Senior SolicitorThe RoleYou will play a key role in providing high-quality legal advice and services in planning law matters, including:Drafting legal agreements and policy adviceSupporting planning-related litigation and inquiriesAdvising on highways, environment, and development mattersTraining officers and attending committee meetingsManaging your own caseload with minimal supervisionRequirementsCurrent Practising Certificate (Solicitor, CILEX Lawyer, or Barrister England & Wales)At least 1 year PQE, ideally moreStrong knowledge of Planning Law (and related fields such as Environment, Highways, Local Government Law)Local authority experience strongly preferredAbility to meet deadlines, manage competing priorities, and provide concise, accurate legal adviceDesirableFamiliarity with local government governance processesConfident advocacy and committee support experienceTo apply, you must demonstrate you meet all essential criteria as outlined in the job descriptionTPBN1_UKTJ
