We are seeking a dedicated Science Technician to support the science department in a vibrant and forward-thinking secondary school in Swindon.
The Role:
As a Science Technician, you will:
Prepare, maintain, and organise lab equipment, chemicals, and resources for science lessons.
Assist teachers and students during practical experiments across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Ensure all experiments are carried out safely, following health & safety regulations and COSHH guidelines.
Manage stock levels, order materials, and safely dispose of hazardous waste.
Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
Support the development of engaging and innovative practical science lessons.
About You:
Previous experience in a laboratory, school, or similar environment.
A strong understanding of scientific principles and health & safety regulations.
Ability to handle and store chemicals safely, following COSHH procedures.
Organised, proactive, and enthusiastic about supporting students' learning.
A science-related qualification or experience in a scientific field is desirable.
