Support the Solutions Architect Team Manager, Solutions Architects, and other key stakeholders such as the Chief Information Officer, Chief Technical Architect, and Chief Support Officer in the development of digital strategy, strategic outline cases, outline business cases, and full business cases. Work with the Solutions Architects to identify and capture new organisational needs, developing clear and detailed process maps and business requirements that can be used to inform digital strategy. Acquire and maintain a detailed knowledge of complex organisational processes and systems used in support of patient care. Understand the Solutions Architects framework covering exploration, design, approval, governance, and implementation.
Support the Solutions Architects in evaluating, documenting, and proposing solutions for large and/or complex business areas, supported by evidence, and communicate these through effective briefings, reports, and presentations so that they may be understood by staff of varying technical ability and background. Provide support on complex analysis activities in often contentious situations to ensure common understanding of difficult and sometimes contentious ideas. Provide support on day-to-day requests and arrange meetings for the Solutions Architects Team.
Support with investigating complex operational problems and opportunities, identifying effective business solutions through process improvements and new technology. Work closely with other team members, alongside the Transformation, Integration, Software Development, Clinical Systems, Training, and Performance Teams and organisational stakeholders on the architecting of integrated digital solutions that underpin place-based care and integrated patient pathways. Stay up to date on the latest NHS clinical and business system developments at regional and national levels and incorporate any findings into your work, options appraisals, and briefings. Develop and maintain effective networks and relationships with IM&T staff at all levels, clinical and senior stakeholders at all levels within the organisation, suppliers, 3rd party organisations, and other NHS organisations (local, regional, and national).
Represent the organisation's interests in discussions with key internal and external stakeholders. Be an excellent team player. Ensure all team members and associated IM&T teams are kept fully abreast of proposed solutions to ensure we get the best solutions available, taking into account existing expertise and all aspects of NHS digital requirements. The post holder will be expected to undertake ongoing personal training and development to maintain relevant skills and experience in evolving software development frameworks and technologies.
Advanced IT literacy and keyboard skills are essential for this role, and the post holder must be comfortable working for long periods reading, writing, and editing data at their desk and workstation for up to 8 hours a day. Prolonged periods of concentration are required. The post holder may, in the future, be required to work remotely, away from the main office. Undertake other duties as designated by the Solutions Architect Team Manager.
