Job overview
Redbridge Integrated Care Directorate invites applications for the post of Band 6 Specialist Depot/Clozapine Mental Health Nurse.
The post holder will work within a multi-disciplinary Mental Health Wellbeing Team in Redbridge.
NELFT fully promotes professional development and personal training, monthly supervision, CPD, annual appraisal, audit, research, and work-based Quality Improvement and innovation.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to manage and have responsibility for a busy Depot Clinic and at times cover the Clozapine Clinic in absence of the regular Clozapine Clinic nurse. You will also have responsibility for those service users under the MHWT without Care coordinators or key workers.
* Ensure risk assessments are updated, medical reviews are booked, and physical health screenings have been carried out.
* Utilise evidence-based practice and client-centred approaches to assess service users' mental state as they attend clinic and signpost as appropriate.
* Maintain effective communication with statutory and voluntary services, service users and carers.
* Supervise some junior staff, mentorship, teaching and assessing of nursing students on placement within the team.
* Contribute to service audit, evaluation, and development in line with the National Service Framework and the Modernisation Agenda within Mental Health Services.
