Head of Care
The Neurological Care Centre – Lancashire is a specialist neurological care centre providing expert neurorehabilitation to support people with brain injuries to regain the skills they have lost.
This role leads a multi-disciplinary team, comprising nurses and therapists, to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care and support individuals in achieving their personal goals.
Main Purpose:
* To take responsibility for ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained and delivered.
* To lead, develop, direct, and supervise the nursing team and Rehabilitation Support team to enable individuals with Neurorehabilitation in daily living functions and development of personal skills.
* To support the team in meeting compliance in line with regulatory requirements.
* To lead on assessments for individual referrals and effective communication of information.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
* Assists the Service Manager in managing the unit, demonstrating professional leadership and providing guidance to staff.
* Leads agreed Quality Assurance Audits and Clinical Governance, ensuring relevant documentation completion according to Brainkind policy and legislation.
* Deputises for the Service Manager as appropriate, leading on the assessment, planning, delivery, evaluation and review of individualised evidence-based care and support.
* Liaises with interdisciplinary teams and external agencies, providing training and support to ensure effective communication with all stakeholders.
About You:
* A valid RGN nursing qualification and experience of managing a ward(s) or large nursing team effectively.
* Ability to lead, manage and inspire a team, with proven experience of managing complex and diverse care/rehabilitation services.
* Demonstrate relevant understanding of challenges associated with working with people with acquired brain injury and other long-term neurological degenerative conditions.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills, with mentorship in Practice (MIP) qualification or willingness to undertake.
