Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
Provision: Secondary SEMH Provision (Darwen – BB3)
The role: The role of a behaviour mentor is to provide support and sustained change to students who need help to overcome their barriers to learning and attendance. It is important that you understand the school’s ethos and values and model this to the children in all aspects of school life, being a good role model. You will set high expectations for behaviour and expect the children to make considerable progress. You will create and implement strategies to promote positive outcomes, provide ongoing support, and develop a 1:1 mentoring relationship with the children to help them meet their behaviour targets.
The provision: This educational setting provides education for children who struggle to thrive in a mainstream setting. The staff have been praised for their pupil-centred and collaborative approach. The headteacher is keen to welcome an educator who has the stamina and enthusiasm to hit the ground running and take on responsibilities. The headteacher supports continuous professional development, and the applicant must have the drive to improve their skills and be willing to undertake training days where applicable.
