As we continue to grow, we are looking for a dedicated Warehouse Operative to join our team and help ensure smooth operations in our warehouse.
Role Overview
As a Warehouse Associate, you will be responsible for receiving and handling of stock, quality checking materials, picking and preparing orders, and ensuring timely dispatch of products to customers. You’ll play a crucial role in maintaining a well-organized warehouse environment and supporting the overall logistics of the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Picking & Packing:
* Accurately pick and pack orders for dispatch, ensuring they are securely wrapped and labelled correctly
* Carrying out the monthly stock take, reporting and investigating any discrepancies raised
* Goods In & Stock Management:
* Assist with stock control, inventory checks, and replenishment of goods.
* Using online booking portals for deliveries and collections.
* Quality checking all stock deliveries coming in, reporting any damages straight away on paperwork, to line manager and suppliers.
* Damage reporting & claims, tracking these and liaising with suppliers on returning/replacing stock
* Taking responsibility for a company’s freight and assets by reporting unusual activity.
* Loading & Unloading:
* Safely load and unload materials, using appropriate equipment when necessary.
* Ensuring that all goods that are loaded match the relevant paperwork
* Booking deliveries/collections/customer ETA’s/delivery access
* Health & Safety:
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment, following company policies and health & safety regulations.
* Ensuring efficient operations by adhering to operational procedures, rules and schedules
* General Warehouse Duties:
* Assist in organizing and optimizing warehouse space for efficiency.
* Warehouse stock rotation – first in, first out – checking manufacture + use by dates.
* Warehouse location planning, racking layout and safe weight loading in bays
* Keeping the warehouse environment clean and tidy, maintaining equipment, keeping fire exits and walkways clear for all access areas
* Product sample cutting – for customers and potential new product testing
* Forklift maintenance (safety checks, charging, refilling, servicing, LOLER’s)
* Manifesting daily collections for pallets and parcels
* Customer ETA’s and delivery issues
Requirements
* Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics role (preferred but not essential).
* Good attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
* Physical strength, fitness and dexterity, as they often have to move heavy packages.
* Excellent team-working skills to effectively collaborate with other members of the team.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Computer literacy, including knowing how to navigate relevant software programs, such as warehouse management systems.
* Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills to coordinate large volumes of goods.
* Honesty and trustworthiness.
* The ability to work effectively under limited supervision.
* A team player with strong communication skills.
* Forklift license (desirable but not essential, training can be provided).
