Registered Manager/Head of Supported Housing
North East of England and/or London with time regularly spent across all services including Peterborough.
Salary: Grade F, £37,874 per annum. The band goes up to £42,330 depending on annual performance reviews. Plus London weighting of £4,000 per annum (if relevant).
Full time role:
37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm with some flexibility to meet the requirements of the post.
Job Purpose:
We are seeking to recruit a dynamic and ambitious person to fill this exciting and key role. Working closely with the Director of Housing as part of the Strategic Leadership Team, the successful applicant will be pivotal in developing and leading the Home department, which includes our OFSTED provision. They will ensure the projects operate with best practice and that OCH implements cutting-edge innovation.
Responsibilities:
1. Act as the Registered Service Manager for the charity's Ofsted registered Supported Accommodation, ensuring excellent and consistent support provision in line with Oasis Community Housing ethos, values, policies, procedures, and Ofsted standards.
2. Hold the role of Safeguarding Lead for Children, ensuring staff fulfill their safeguarding responsibilities in accordance with relevant legislation and organizational policies.
3. Line manage Team Leaders and effectively manage budgets.
4. Provide leadership on the culture, ethos, and values within the charity and its activities as a member of the Strategic Leadership Team.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will be qualified to Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services (Children and Young People’s Residential Management) or have a willingness to work towards this qualification. They will have extensive and demonstrable experience as a supported housing manager, including management of health and safety, finances, safeguarding, needs and risk assessment, and personalized holistic support provision. They will also have experience of safeguarding responsibilities at a management level, and experience of line managing staff, providing guidance, support, training, and supervision.
They will be flexible and adaptable, able to respond to ongoing change and lead others through change with a solutions-focused approach. Knowledge and experience of the Children’s Act, Ofsted regulations, and Ofsted inspections are required. They should foster a reflective environment where staff can identify areas for improvement for the benefit of those being supported. Excellent emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and the ability to work calmly under pressure are essential, along with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build effective working relationships with other organizations.
There is a requirement for the post holder to be a Practising Christian.
