What does a life as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Maintenance engineers play a crucial role in ensuring that machinery and equipment operate smoothly and reliably. Their responsibilities include planning and executing scheduled maintenance to prevent potential issues, as well as responding swiftly to emergencies when breakdowns occur. They diagnose faults, carry out necessary repairs, and rigorously test equipment to ensure proper functionality. Another key aspect of the role, is maintaining detailed records of faults, repairs, and maintenance activities. Through their expertise, they help minimise downtime, enhance productivity, and extend the lifespan of critical machinery.
The apprenticeship course will cover the following: -
1. Hand Over Process Engineering Plant and Equipment
2. Work Safely, Minimise Risk and Comply with Emergency Procedures
3. Contribute to Effective Working Relationships
4. Carry Out Planned Maintenance Procedures on Mechanical Plant and Equipment
5. Deal with Variations and Defects in Mechanical Plant and Equipment
6. Diagnose and Determine the Causes of Faults in Mechanical Plant and Equipment
7. Determine the Feasibility of Repair of Componenets
8. Remove and replace from Mechanical Plant and Equipment
What do you need to be a successful applicant: -
9. Potential to work at SCQF level 6/7
10. The ability and desire to learn and develop a thorough knowledge of the skills, technology and safety procedures required to carry out the full range of tasks
11. You must live in a commutable distance to independently travel to and from the branch
12. Strong communication skills
13. Be able to establish and maintain good customer/client relationships
14. Candidates will undertake a preemployment assessment
