You will initially work Monday to Friday 8.30 am - 5.00 pm, however in future there will be an element of shift working. Days and shifts are to be confirmed but may require an element of evening and weekend working depending on which team you join.

What will the apprentice be doing?
You will learn about areas such as process design and food science in the context of food safety legislation and quality standards
This technical role focuses on the key business areas of food safety and product quality and will involve an apprentice working alongside other departments to ensure that all manufacturing is done correctly, safely and to a high standard of quality.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will be provided with full support and training in order to kick start your career into becoming a future leader of food technology in Bakkavor. You will gain understanding partly through gaining a nationally recognized qualification (Food and Drink Operations Level 6) as well as through work-based experience
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
At the end of your programme, if you have successfully completed your apprenticeship and achieved the performance targets that we have set for you, you are guaranteed a permanent role with us.
Future career aspirations could include Senior Process Technologist, Quality Manager and Technical Manager to name a few.

What qualifications or qualities are required?:
A minimum of five Scottish National 5 certificates including English & Maths or equivalent.
Age requirement is 18+
Things to consider
The work environment can be cold and noisy (for which PPE will be provided) and will entail being inside for long periods of time. However, it is also a very positive place to work and the experience gained will be invaluable for the future and will give you your first steps into manufacturing.
