Are you an experienced, enthusiastic, and resilient Clinical Psychologist or Psychological Therapist who thrives in a role that includes variety, complexity, and challenge alongside opportunities for growth? If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal Clinical Psychologist/Psychological Therapist to join our Complex Emotional Needs Pathway (Assertive Stabilisation Team). We are a new team developed to work with hard-to-reach service users and form part of our Complex Emotional Needs Pathway in North Cumbria.
You will offer leadership and clinical expertise within a small team and be part of the wider Community, Crisis, and Acute services with links to primary care and third sector providers.
You will assess and implement clinical interventions aimed at promoting engagement and managing risk with a small group of multi-agency service users. You will offer clinical supervision and complex case scaffolding.
A strong, positive team culture has been fostered with a particular emphasis on wellbeing and building resilience for what can undoubtedly be challenging roles. As a team, we welcome diversity and celebrate individual differences. We have a strong reflective culture, providing protected time and forums for learning, growth, and development. As senior clinicians within the team, you will be expected to have a strong leadership and supervision role.
The post will involve supporting clinical service delivery, with a particular focus on developing complex formulations and enhancing and embedding trauma-informed care.
We aim to attract and retain a diverse, talented, and committed workforce who are caring and compassionate, and therefore able to meet the demands of the modern NHS now and in the future. In return, we can offer a dynamic working environment in which to build a career.
Caseloads will be small, with an emphasis on clients with complex presentations. The roles will also involve supervision of team members, contribution to the staff wellbeing programme, delivery of scaffolding, and input into service development and research projects. The postholder will also support the work of the Consultant Psychological Therapist in the development, delivery, and evaluation of the service. They will, where appropriate, deputise for the Consultant Lead. This role will emphasize enhancing pathway coordination, adherence, and throughput through the system.
