Description The role we are recruiting for will be accountable for ensuring compliance with all internal and external quality & regulatory requirements in relation to qualifications and accredited learning programmes, as well as broader working practices that underpin Wincanton’s Operational Training operation. The successful candidate will manage the relationships with the awarding bodies for qualification requirements and is a key role in ensuring our internal programmes are continuously reviewed and updated in line with these requirements, legislation amendments and industry best practice. This is a hybrid role, typically based for 2 days at our training facility near Lutterworth, Leicestershire and 3 days from home Duties and responsibilities: Maintain Wincanton’s high quality and standards in all specialist areas within Operational Training: HSEQ Training, MHE Training, Driver Training Manage key external relationships with various awarding organisations and regulated bodies to ensure our operation meets the required standards and delivers best practice Play a key role in the timely review and maintenance of course training materials to ensure they are always up to date with relevant material and legally compliant Ensure all assurance activities and processes align with qualification specifications and enable the identification of opportunities for continuous improvements To ensure parity of teacher training standards across all training courses in Wincanton’s Operational Training portfolio, identifying best practice internally and externally to drive improvements in provision Accountable for the quality of training delivered by 3 rd party providers via the management of our Sub-contractor Framework, ensuring the highest possible standards Drive appropriate levels of standardisation and CPD Accountable for the management of our Operational Training facility, Bittesby House in Lutterworth, Leicestershire Manage a team of Operational Training Quality Assurance Specialists with relevant SME knowledge Line Management of our Operational Training Administration Manager who in turn manages a team of Administrators, ensuring we have the correct processes and procedures in place to deliver a first class customer and learner experience Evaluate the success and impact of training given across Wincanton and the Operational Training team Work with the Operational Training team and wider business to identify opportunities to increase the training offering To liaise with Divisional Training Managers / Operational Training Senior Management Team to ensure training offering supports business needs and feedback any concerns following discussions in training courses To produce timely and accurate reports for training analysis – both financial and learner focused Extensive UK travel Experience, skills and attributes: Essential: Experience and knowledge of working with awarding organisations, achieving and maintaining awarding body status Comprehensive understanding of quality assurance processes and working practices Experience of Line Managing a diverse and remote team TAQA Award in Assessing Vocational Achievement – Level 3 or equivalent Quality Assurance qualification: TAQA Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice – Level 4 or equivalent Experience of working in a similar role Good understanding of Curriculum Development Processes Strong communication skills and verbally articulate Consistent, polite, approachable and helpful Highly organized Strong attention to detail Open minded and keen to explore new methods of training delivery and governance Good understanding of Health and Safety practices Desirable: Formal training qualification i.e. PTLLS, BTEC Award in Education and Training (L3) or above Experience conducting internal audits Experience in developing/reviewing learning content Prior experience of working with awarding orgnaisations such as: Nebosh, IOSH, RTITB, SQA, Qualsafe Our Culture & Benefits In addition to a generous salary, we really value our people and offer a friendly, safety-first working environment, along with other benefits including company pension scheme, generous holidays, cycle to work scheme, employee benefits include, online discount platform, onsite parking and much more.
