Job Description
THE ROLE
Williams Racing is seeking an Operations Planner responsible for managing component delivery from design release through to on-time delivery. The successful candidate will manage works orders, ensure BOM dependencies and tooling requirements are fulfilled, and coordinate with stakeholders across multiple departments to maintain production efficiency in our high-performance motorsport environment.
Core Requirements
1. Schedule, generate and manage works orders through the factory, maintaining accurate delivery dates and supporting make versus buy decisions
2. Ensure all sub-components required for top-level BOM works orders are available for manufacturing lines
3. Coordinate with stakeholders to provide information on upcoming demands and model "what-if" scenarios to manage capacity issues
4. Own promise dates and delivery commitments to the Programme team, clearly communicating any changes to internal customers
5. Work closely with Production Schedulers to generate accurate work lists based on correct priorities
6. Coordinate with Procurement to expedite delivery of required works orders in line with schedule
7. Manage parts efficiently through production and ensure any NCRs are resolved promptly
Qualifications & Experience
1. Proven experience in production control and scheduling
2. Excellent attention to detail with ability to manage multiple complex assembly portfolios
3. Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with different stakeholders
4. Background in engineering desired
5. Understanding of composite and metallic production techniques preferred
6. Experience in motorsport (professional or hobby) beneficial
7. Degree level qualification in Production Management preferable
