If so, this could be the role for you The role: We have an exciting opportunity for a finance professional to join our corporate function based in Crawley The Finance function within the Group is a key partner in the strategic decision making and operational support of the Thales business. It ensures optimal management of activities and business by pursuing a global objective of minimising financial risks whilst managing financial results, notably by contributing to the implementation of corrective action plans when discrepancies with the initial budget are established or anticipated. The position of a Financial Analyst is to provide professional financial support to the Reporting Manager, Functional Controllers and Function Managers. You will be Involved in month end, budgeting and forecasting. You will play a pivotal role in providing accurate, timely and reliable overhead and cost information and analysis to senior management, along with supporting analysis and commentary to help aid their decision making. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Support development and preparation of monthly financial results and distribution of Group & UK monthly financial reporting, ensuring tight deadlines are achieved. Support the completion of Group Reporting Packages (Actuals, Budget, Forecast) ensuring accurate submissions are made in a timely manner. Support the preparation of monthly Business Operational Review (BOR) reporting pack, including commentary and analysis as may be requested by Group, UK or business management. Involved in planning and budgeting, liaising with key stakeholders to ensure headcount is aligned and cost centre pack and reviews are completed in a timely manner. Provide professional financial support to the UK Function(s) management teams and share knowledge Control and validation of UK Function(s) planning and budgeting processes (MYB) Control and co-ordinate function financial processes such as Cost By Function and Group performance plan Experience and Skills Degree or part-qualified in accounting (CIMA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent). Strong Analytical skills, a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, whilst still being able to see the “bigger picture” Solid Excel skills are a must Excellent communication and relationship building skills, both within the finance community and across the wider business Self-motivated, ability to work to tight deadlines both as part of a team and as an individual Ability to deal with change and work in a continuously improving environment Proven ability to interact with non-financial managers and staff at all levels (both strategically and operationally).
