What you'll do The role will report into the UK Field Service Management structure. The main territory will be within the UKI with the main focus of work being within the Midlands belt, between Birmingham and Leeds. There will be additional travel out of the core area as required by the business or to meet customer demands. Some EU support may be required but will be by x-boarder support request only. This position will be filled by an experienced field service engineer who has been active in the Life Sciences, Cell/Gene therapy, and chromatography fields. The individual will be trained in a range of technologies across the Cytiva portfolio - PALL filtration, Cell Culture, AKTA chromatography and Bioprocess equipment as required. Full product training with be given, with progression against a defined and tiered skill set expected to take approximately 3 years. Individual technical and personal development will be supported by the Field service management tier and formal mentoring with experienced engineers. Onward progression will be by merit and opportunity within the wider UK/EMEA/Global teams/products and the evolving installed base. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate aptitude towards rapid, parallel, and repeatable execution of defined maintenance tasks to an aggressive timetable. Be highly organized, Key Business Objectives (KBOs), pegged to the bonus structure will be defined. Naturally driven to eliminate “wastes” at every opportunity, cognizant of the benefits of continual small improvements in areas that are under local control. Pedantic in action, precise in documentation, and approachable in demeanor. Resilient in the face of internal and external customers’ demands to divert from primary tasks, but flexible enough to recognize the rare occasions that a concession may be necessary. The role will be 100% customer-facing, all tasks can be carried out from the field via the mobile tools provided, or, subject to sufficient progression may be required to participate in our remote diagnostics/fix program which would typically represent 20% of the working week. Who you are HNC/Degree in engineering/scientific discipline or suitable transferrable experience, ideally based in or close to Cambridge area. Can demonstrate through activity based examples from the workplace, aptitude to a field based technical role. Established IT skills, the ability to configure/extend a home router/network for example and/or demonstrated ability of networking of Life Sciences or chromatography equipment in the field.
