She has many photo scrap book colouring and uses this to relax in the afternoons. She has a great sense of humour. Once she has built up a relationship with someone she can be very kind natured, making sure that staff have had enough to eat and drink and asking if they are ok. What would you be doing? You would need to be enthusiastic, fun and come up with fun and exciting activities whilst being patient and an eager learner. Also, you need to be encouraging, reassuring and clear while communicating. Your colleagues will tell you it's a very rewarding job where no two days are the same. If you re not familiar with it, for a sleep-in shift, you sleep at the person s home overnight in the spare room, ready to wake up and provide support if someone is restless.
