The vacancy Charles Harper House is a supported housing service for people with learning disabilities and sensory impairments, such as visual or hearing loss. The scheme consists of eight self-contained flats, two on-site offices, a communal area, and a large garden. Staff in the service are trained in British Sign Language (BSL), and it is essential that you hold a Level 1 or 2 qualification in BSL for this role. This role can either be full-time (37.5 hrs a week) or part-time (22.5 hrs a week). Your typical day could start with creating and implementing support plans consistently and correctly for our customers. Then you might be supporting individuals to pursue hobbies and leisure activities at home and in their community by being innovative, enthusiastic and encouraging. As a Care Support Worker, you'll be assisting people to live their best life. With a particular focus supporting people with kindness and compassion. You will support people with all aspects of daily living including assisting people with their personal care and health needs. Your kind, compassionate and driven to protect the rights of the people you support. You'll respect individual characters you are supporting and the different wants and needs they may have. To be successful in this role you'll need to be available to work on a rota basis which is covered over a 24/7 period. Some waking nights and sleep ins will be required. Could it be you?
