- and right now we are looking to recruit an Active Communities Instructor to join the centre.
In the role you will be responsible for ensuring the leisure contract is proactively leading the way and our activities and initiatives are seen as integral to the healthy lifestyle offering across the Borough of Buckinghamshire. You will establish thriving relationships with community partners and stakeholders and identify opportunities for growth and development of the Leisure trust activities within key local areas to serve underrepresented groups.
Your key duties will include:
- Deliver weekly physical activity sessions across leisure centres to meet community needs and priority areas outlined by the active communities plan.
- Ensure community wellbeing activities are effectively promoted and well attended by target populations.
- To work towards developing centres into welcoming community hubs where everyone can come to socialise, be active and relax.
- To build strong and trusted relationships with local community partners and groups.
- Work with organisations to understand the needs of underrepresented groups and upskill staff as required.
- To collaborate with social prescribers and health coaches to further saturate healthy lifestyle services across multiple sites.
- Develop a core programme of community wellbeing activities and utilise space within the leisure facilities for non-traditional uses.
- Attend meetings to report on participation and revenue of activities associated with the active communities plan.
Serco manages these facilities on a day-to-day basis on behalf of the Trust.
About you
- Understand the demographics, specific needs of the community in Buckinghamshire, as well as sports development and barriers to physical activity for underrepresented groups in Buckinghamshire
- You will have experience of sourcing and implementing funding applications and dealing with third sector voluntary organisations.
- Competent using the full Microsoft suite.
- Proven report writing skills.
- Excellent customer services skills
- Proven experience using various form of social media.
- Willingness to travel across multiple sites
