Job overview: This is an opportunity for a Trainee Nursing Associate Apprenticeship role within various teams. Our apprenticeship scheme is run in partnership with a leading provider to ensure you are fully supported through a high-quality training programme. The apprenticeship will provide you with valuable experience and offer a strong foundation for future careers. The post will become a permanent position after you have successfully completed the apprenticeship programme. Whilst completing your apprenticeship programme you will be a band 3. On successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will progress to band 4 as a Nursing Associate.
We recruit people based on their values and believe that their lived experience is an advantage. We seek out potential, not perfection, and this means that together we are as diverse as the communities we care for. Simply put, when we employ caring people who act with integrity and have the right skills, we can give those with mental health challenges, learning disabilities, and neurodiversity high-quality care and support to live fulfilling lives, and make our staff feel purposeful, happy, and valued.
Main duties of the job: The Nursing Associate apprenticeship role sits alongside our existing nursing care support workers, registered nurses, Allied Health Professionals, and medical colleagues to deliver hands-on care for service users. You must have the following qualifications before applying and will not be shortlisted if you do not evidence these in your application: A health-related NVQ or equivalent at minimum level 2 AND level 2 functional skills (Maths & English).
During the programme, you will be employed as a Band 3 within a clinical team. The nursing associate programme is a full-time apprenticeship, and you must be prepared to be contracted to work 37.5 hours per week. We welcome applications for those who already work bank shifts within our organisation but who must be willing to shift onto contracted hours of 30 – 37.5 hours a week in a permanent role.
Working for our organisation: The Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LYPFT) is the main provider of Mental Health and Learning Disability services in Leeds. We also provide specialist inpatient services in York and some highly specialised services across the country. There are many benefits of working for LYPFT including fantastic employee wellbeing support, 27 - 33 days annual leave, flexible working and remote working arrangements, the NHS Pension Scheme (LYPFT pays 20.6% into your scheme each year), coaching, support and opportunities for career development and training and education support alongside a range of exclusive discounts and payment schemes.
