Job overview
* In conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues, to provide a service in Oncology.
* In conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues, to play a full part in the out-of-hours On-Call service for the department, including being on-call for telephone advice and major incidents.
* To provide cover for Consultant and Senior colleagues during periods of leave.
* In conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues, to take part in medical audit and research as appropriate.

The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust is one of the largest acute and community providers in the West Midlands, with more than 850 beds on the New Cross site. The Trust also has 56 rehabilitation beds at West Park Hospital and 54 beds at Cannock Chase Hospital.

* New Cross Hospital – secondary and tertiary services, maternity, Accident and Emergency, critical care, and outpatients.

* Cannock Chase Hospital – general surgery, orthopaedics, breast surgery, urology, dermatology, and medical day case investigations and treatment (including endoscopy).
* More than 20 community sites – community services for children and adults, walk-in centres, and therapy and rehabilitation services.
* Primary care – Ten GP practices have now joined us and offer extended opening hours to patients.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* In conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues, to provide a service in Oncology.
* In conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues, to play a full part in the out-of-hours On-Call service for the department, including being on-call for telephone advice and major incidents.
* To provide cover for Consultant and Senior colleagues during periods of leave.
* In conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues, to take part in medical audit and research as appropriate.
* In conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues, to ensure that the requirements of clinical governance are met.

Person specification
* Full GMC Registration with license to practice.
* State any higher training required that is essential in order to fulfil the role.
* Higher Medical Degree.
* Specific experience required over and above that which could reasonably have been gained via training to CCT level.
* Subspecialty training or equivalent.
Ability/Skills
* Specific skills required to undertake the role above those required to achieve CCT.
