About the Role:
As a PE Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, high-energy lessons that promote fitness, teamwork and resilience. You will create inclusive learning experiences, ensuring that all students, regardless of ability, can participate and thrive. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop sports programmes, coach teams and contribute to the school’s extracurricular activities.
Key Responsibilities of the PE Teacher:
Plan and deliver engaging and inclusive PE lessons across KS3 and KS4, fostering a love for physical activity.
Encourage students to develop teamwork, leadership and resilience through a range of sports and physical activities.
Identify and nurture sporting talents, providing opportunities for students to participate in competitive and recreational sports.
Promote a healthy and active lifestyle, incorporating both practical and theoretical aspects of physical education.
Maintain a safe and structured learning environment, ensuring students adhere to health and safety guidelines.
Contribute to the school’s extracurricular sports programmes, including coaching and organising events.
Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
Collaborate with colleagues and external sports organisations to enhance opportunities for students.
PE Teacher requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification with a specialism in Physical Education.
Previous experience teaching PE at secondary level (KS3/KS4) is desirable.
A passion for sports and fitness, with the ability to inspire and engage students.
Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
A commitment to promoting student well-being and physical development.
Experience in coaching or leading sports teams is an advantage.
Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
