Assistant Psychologist - Rehabilitation Services
This post is fixed term for 12 months to meet the needs of the service.
We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Psychologist for a 12 month period to assist the Clinical Psychologists and other multi-disciplinary colleagues in the clinical teams with assessment, formulation and provision of psychological interventions with individuals engaged with the North Wales Specialist Rehabilitation Services.
This post will involve working within both community and inpatient settings across the North Wales region.
The post provides an excellent opportunity for those seeking to gain experience of working with complex mental health issues and be involved with the development of a trauma informed approach within the service.
Main duties of the job
The core component of this post is clinical in nature, specifically the administration and scoring of psychological tests, undertaking assessments as well as providing circumscribed psychological interventions. The post will support the development of trauma informed approaches to rehabilitative care.
On occasion, the Assistant Psychologist may become involved in clinical audit or service-related research projects. Regular clinical supervision will be provided, and there are well-established opportunities for the development of clinical skills. Experience of working with people with mental health difficulties or a similar clinical population is essential. The ability to provide group-based interventions would be an advantage.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
