What will you be doing as our new Design Manager in WRMP?
As our new Design Manager, you will deliver a programme of Water Treatment capital investment projects for WRMP, ranging in value from £500k to E54, which typically comprise increasing capacity and improving resilience of existing Water Treatment Works, and enhancing groundwater abstraction.
We’ll look to you to develop new ways of working and solutions that focus on delivering outcomes, rather than outputs, to reduce carbon, protect and increase natural capital, address climate change, and embrace innovations and new digital technologies.
Key Accountabilities:
* Lead Design Delivery: Manage and deliver water treatment projects, improving capacity, resilience, and groundwater abstraction. Oversee the design of water treatment projects, improving capacity and resilience across Water Treatment Works and groundwater abstraction systems.
* Team Leadership & Development: Develop, mentor, and inspire a multi-disciplinary engineering team.
* Innovation & Sustainability: Drive solutions that reduce carbon, enhance natural capital, and embrace new digital technologies.
* Project Management & Collaboration: Work with internal and external stakeholders, including the Strategic Pipeline Alliance, to ensure timely, cost-effective project delivery. Delivery of technical aspects of the project in accordance with the plan. Work closely with the Project Design Manager to agree the technical resource required, working with Allocate design resources to portfolio design work with the principle of Best for Task.
* Health & Safety Compliance: Drive excellence in Health and Safety in design. Eliminate hazards and reduce risks during design.
A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours….
To be considered for this exciting opportunity within the @one Alliance, you’ll have proven leadership in engineering design, a focus on sustainability, and a passion for innovation. You’ll hold a degree, HNC or HND in Engineering and have extensive experience in a technical role. You’ll demonstrate experience with the management of designs and multi-disciplinary projects and the capability to inspire, encourage and support others to achieve critical tasks and outcomes within non- infrastructure projects.
You’ll manage situations proactively, with the ability to think and plan ahead as well as owning excellent organisation skills in order to organise own and team’s workload and priorities. You’ll show resilience by maintaining energy and focus when under pressure and experiencing significant setbacks alongside being open to new challenges and provide the drive to continuous improvement.
