ROLE: Construction Business Development Manager
LOCATION: Midlands
SALARY: £60,000 - £80,000 DOE
THE COMPANY
A successful business within the construction industry is seeking a Business Development Manager to join their growing team. This role is fully office-based in their new offices in the Midlands area, with additional site visits included. This organisation has experienced continual growth over the last 8 years.
THE JOB
The Business Development Manager is responsible for focusing on growing the business and extending the reach of our products or services to increase revenue through all external communications with clients and potential clients. Your duties include identifying new clients, pitching, and controlling the image of external contact to clients/potential clients. You will build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients while communicating (written, verbal, or via presentation), socialising, and entertaining.
Your main duties will include:
1. Identifying new business opportunities, including new markets, new clients, new partnerships, or new products and services.
2. Taking an active role in organising business development for the new Midlands office.
3. Creating strategies to successfully reach new business opportunities.
4. Organising and streamlining external contact to clients regarding opportunities and tenders.
5. Maintaining and developing relationships with current clients.
6. Attending conferences and events to build relationships with industry partners and staying up to date with new trends.
7. Entertaining clients at social events, communicating and representing the company.
8. Creating sales forecasts and actively working towards reaching them.
9. Possessing a strong understanding of the company's products, the competition in the industry, and positioning.
10. Creating a business development plan and presenting it to the Managing Director.
11. Collaborating with all internal departments to ensure the company's image is presented correctly.
12. Contacting potential clients to establish relationships and arrange meetings.
13. Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives.
14. Increasing the value of current customers while attracting new ones.
15. Developing quotations, presentations, and proposals for clients.
16. Attending presentations to convey the image and reputation of the company.
17. Attending weekly pre-construction meetings.
18. Managing the Bid Manager process.
19. Managing the pre-qualification process.
20. Determining key business development KPIs.
21. Maintaining control procedures in accordance with the Integrated Management Systems ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.

1. Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Development Manager or similar role within the construction industry.
2. Proven track record.
