Job Description
Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system. Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the caller's request appropriately. Signpost patients to the correct service. Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, team members, and external agencies. Photocopy documentation as required. Input data into the patients' healthcare records as necessary. Direct requests for information (i.e., SAR, insurance/solicitors letters, and DVLA forms) to the administrative team. Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner. Maintain a clean, tidy, and effective working area at all times. Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards. Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested.
Person Specification
We are looking for someone who has excellent communication skills, a clear & polite telephone manner, and strong IT skills, proficient in the use of MS Office and Outlook. Effective time management, the ability to work as a team member and independently, and good interpersonal skills are essential. Problem-solving & analytical skills, the ability to follow policy and procedure, and being polite and confident are also necessary. Flexibility and cooperation, motivation as a forward thinker, high levels of integrity and loyalty, sensitivity and empathy in distressing situations, and the ability to work under pressure are crucial.
Flexibility to work outside of core office hours is required as the practice is open from 8 am to 6:30 pm, Monday to Friday. The 35 hours will be split over the week in shifts (early & late) during these times. There will be an opportunity for extra hours for holiday and sickness cover.

Pay: From £11.44 per hour
