We are seeking to recruit aNeurodevelopmental Pathway Co-ordinator into a brand-new role to work as anintegral part of the neurodevelopmental pathway (NDP) multi-agency team basedin Halton Child Development Centre covering the footprint of the Borough ofHalton and some areas of Cheshire West.
Main duties of the NDP co-ordinator roleinclude providing specialist support to colleagues on neurodevelopmental issues,taking a key role in liaising with partner agencies to achieve positiveoutcomes for children/adolescents with both a neurodevelopmental difficulty anda mental health condition and taking a key role in feeding back to young peopleand their families the outcome of their multi agency assessment.
The successful candidate would also be expectedto develop the service and the role in line with national and localinitiatives. The post holder will demonstrate an attitude which respects andvalues children, young people and their parents/carers and upholds theBridgewater Trust values.
Main duties of the job
Job Purpose:
* To work as an integral part of the Neurodevelopmental pathway multi agency team
* To lead the development and implementation of a diagnostic pathway for children with neurodevelopmental difficulties
* To provide specialist support to colleagues on neurodevelopmental issues.
* To take a key role in liaising with partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes for children/adolescents with both a neurodevelopmental difficulty and a mental health condition.
* To take a key role in feeding back to young people and their families the outcome of their multi agency assessment.
* To develop the service and the role in line with national and local initiatives.

Job responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Clinical
1.1 Complete complex assessments of childrens abilities,development and areas of specific impairment, such as in-depth assessments ofbehaviour and relationship difficulties.
1.2 Screeningof new referrals to the neurodevelopment pathway.
1.3 Producea collective clinical formulation and intervention plan where appropriatefounded on evidence-based practice in co-operation with the client and theircarers.
1.4 Actively form and maintain therapeutic alliances underpinnedby specialist knowledge and theory; this will also involve co-ordination ofother members of the multi-agency team.
1.5 Evaluate the effectiveness of the existing pathway andinterventions using a range of interpersonal skills, supervision, andstandard evaluation measures.
1.6 Identify and respond appropriately to Child Protectionissues, as described within the guidelines of Bridgewater CommunityHealthcare NHS Foundation Trust and local safeguarding policies.
1.7 Maintain clear and comprehensive clinical notes, to ensureinformation is accurate and up to date for future reference, in line with ECCGuidelines and complies with the Data Protection Act.
1.8 Maintain confidentiality and professional standards at alltimes.
1.9 Identify supervision needs and attend clinical supervision asappropriate.
1.10 Organise own caseload and work schedules.
1.11 Keep abreast of new clinical developments for young people withneurodevelopment difficulties.
2. Communication
2.1 Attend Child Protection Case Conferences as required as arepresentative of the Trust.
2.2 Provide and receive highly complex, sensitive, or contentiousinformation to children and families, and to other professionals within childservices.
2.3 Communicate effectively with young people and their families,when in crisis and in challenging family situations.
2.4 Organise and facilitate multi-professional/agency meetings andreviews.
2.5 Elicit highly sensitive information usingengagement/communication skills, which are appropriate to the young personsstage of development.
2.6 Work as part of an integrated multi professional/agency team,ensuring good communication and working relationships with otherprofessionals in hospitals and the community.
2.7 Compile and maintain effective client records in accordancewith professional body and Trust standards.
2.8 Provide written reports detailing outcome of assessment andrecommendations for future support.
3. Service Development
3.1 Review existing resource provision
3.2 Develop services for children and young people with aneurodevelopmental disorder and mental health needs in collaboration withCAMHS and partner agencies.
3.3 Development of neurodevelopment care pathways with partneragencies.
4. Education / Development /Training
4.1 Maintain specialist neurodevelopment role within themulti-disciplinary/agency team and provide support and consultation toco-workers within the network.
4.2 Provide training to other professionals to improveneurodevelopment health knowledge and skills in line with the ChildrensNational Service Framework.
4.3 Provide specific training and/or presentations to otheragencies, statutory and voluntary, and promote and deliver servicedevelopments.
4.4 Provide training placements for students (of same discipline)as appropriate in agreement with the team and Head of Service.
4.5 Contribute to the supervision and training of otherprofessionals within the service as appropriate.
4.6 Provide evidence to support development around the Trustappraisal system which includes KSF.
4.7 Participate in regular supervision, engage in reflectivepractice, and be committed to continued development.
4.8 Develop own skills and knowledge and contribute to thedevelopment of others.
5. Professional Development
5.1 To participate in individual performance appraisal andpersonal development plans, with the manager.
5.2 Maintain registration in accordance with their professionalbody.
6. Shared Team Roles and Responsibilities
6.1 Work closely with families, carers and other agenciesinvolved in meeting the needs of the clients.
6.2 Ensure maintenance of accurate statistical records as requiredby the Trust.
6.3 Adhere to current research and legislation and work withinTrust policies and procedural guidelines.
6.4 Participate in orientation, induction, training and educationof new staff and students on placement, and staff from other agencies.
6.5 Record outcome measure in conjunction with clients and inaccordance with professional and Trust policies and procedures.
6.6 Participate in the teams routine administrative tasks.
6.7 Provide formal documents, such as letters and reports, toother professionals, agencies, and families.
6.8 Provide evidence to support development around the TrustAppraisal system which may include the KSF or other competency profiles.
7.Clinical Governance and Research
7.1 Maintain personal skills and knowledge through relevantworkshops, lectures, journals, and peer supervision.
7.2 Takes responsibility for research, evaluation, and audit inresponse to the clinical and professional interest of the post, and tomonitor standards, quality and consumer reaction to the provision ofservices.
7.3 Provides advice and supervision to trainees regarding researchskills and competency.
8. Research & Audit
8.1 Undertake and participate in appropriate audit, qualityassurance programmes and research as directed.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Up to date Professional Registration (to be maintained)
* Registered Childrens Nurse / Mental Health Nurse / RNLD (Professional Registration with NMC) OR Registered Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or Speech and Language Therapist.
* Specialist qualifications pertaining to Neurodevelopmental disorder
